Horse Riding Lessons, Hacks & Courses

All of our lessons are taught by Claire Nixon registered BHS II (Intermediate Instructor), BHS Riding & Road Safety Trainer, UKCC Level 2 coach and an NVQ Assessor. She also has an HND in Equine Management and qualifications in BHS Equine Specific First Aid & Child Protection. Lessons are available for all ages (from 4 years and above) from beginners to advance riders.

Hacks

Once you have had an assessment lesson here at Swinhoe Farm Riding Centre. Why not try a hack out around the farm to St.Cuthberts cave, which includes several breath taking views of the Cheviots and holy Island. There is also a shorter woodland ride were you may even see a Red Squirrel if you’re lucky, Hacks are for a maximum of five people per group, so that you learn to ride in open spaces, ride up and down hills and jump cross country fences if you want.

BHS Exams

The BHS qualifications have a long, proven recognition within the horse industry through out the world.

We offer examination training for all BHS Examinations up to BHS Stage 3 and including BHS AI. This prepares clients towards BHS examinations covering the syllabus and examination technique. Our courses are tailor made to our clients needs and depending on the individual they can move through the stages at their own pace. We aim to expand your knowledge and experience with a range of horses. There is the opportunity to train towards the BHS Ride and Road Safety examination and also we offer training and testing for the BHS Horse owner Certificates Levels 1 to 4.
