Training towards BHS Stage 2

We cover the full BHS syllabus, the course is tailor made to your individual requirements and we also work on your examination technique.This examination comprises a Riding section and a Stable Management section. These elements can be taken together on the same day or individually at different times. The complete qualification will not be awarded until passes in both sections have been achieved.

Aim of the BHS Stage 2 candidate

∗ To be successful the candidate must understand the management requirements to ensure the health and well-being of the horse. Working under regular but not constant supervision, the candidate should be able to carry out the care of stabled and grass kept horses during all seasons of the year.
∗ The candidate must have an understanding of how the horse adjusts his balance to carry a rider. They must be capable of riding a quiet, experienced horse or pony in the countryside and on the public highway as well as in a manege or indoor school.
